Senior 3D Artist
Red Rover Interactive is an exciting new game development studio founded by industry veterans from renowned companies such as Funcom, Lockwood Publishing, Bohemia Interactive, Ubisoft Reflections, and more. The Role:
Red Rover Interactive is looking for a Senior 3D Artist to join our team and help shape the visual identity of our games. In this role, you’ll be a key creative force in crafting a wide range of high-quality 3D assets—from immersive environments and level art to props, architecture, and hard-surface models including weapons and skins.
As a Senior 3D Artist, you will be involved in every stage of asset creation. You’ll collaborate closely with concept artists, designers, and the Art Director to ensure a visually cohesive and technically sound experience that supports both gameplay and storytelling. Additionally, you will:
- Creating modular interior sets, architecture, and world-building elements in collaboration with the Art Director and Concept Artists.
- Designing and modelling a broad variety of 3D assets including hard-surface props, environmental details, and world-building kits.
- Producing clean, efficient mid-poly hard surface models with a strong technical foundation.
- Developing realistic and stylized 3D models, materials, textures, and lighting to bring game worlds to life.
- Ensuring visual consistency and fidelity across all assets and environments.
- Optimizing assets for performance in real-time engines while maintaining artistic quality.
- Collaborating with other departments to integrate assets seamlessly into the game.
- Mentoring junior artists and promoting a culture of creativity, collaboration, and excellence.
We are looking for someone who:
- Has proven experience as a Senior 3D Artist or Senior Environment Artist in the gaming industry.
- Brings a strong portfolio showcasing a range of high-quality 3D work across environments, props, and hard-surface assets.
- Proficiency in: industry-standard 3D modelling software (3dsMax and/or Blender), Baked texturing, rendering software and Unreal Engine.
- Strong artistic skills and attention to detail.
In addition, we expect you to have:
- A degree in fine arts, digital arts, or a related field is preferred.
- Passion for gaming and a deep understanding of the importance of 3D art in creating immersive player experiences.
- For a position at our Newcastle office, you must possess the legal right to work in the UK. Similarly, to be eligible for a position in our Oslo office, one must have the requisite work permissions in Norway (i.e. be an EU national).
