Senior UI Artist
Red Rover Interactive is an exciting new game development studio founded by industry veterans from renowned companies such as Funcom, Lockwood Publishing, Bohemia Interactive, Ubisoft Reflections, and more. We're on a mission to reimagine the multiplayer gaming landscape, with an emphasis on crafting groundbreaking survival experiences that champion player agency and drama.
At Red Rover Interactive, we are seeking a Senior UI Artist to lead and elevate the visual design of the UI elements that seamlessly connect players to the game. In this senior role, you will be instrumental in driving the creative vision for intuitive and visually compelling user interfaces that significantly enhance player engagement and immersion within the game world.
- Lead the design and implementation of innovative UI concepts, including HUD, menus, and iconography, ensuring they are visually cohesive and aligned with the game’s genre and aesthetic.
- Collaborate closely with UX designers, game developers, and other senior stakeholders to create a seamless and immersive user experience.
- Maintain, elevate, and set the standard for the visual quality of UI elements through rigorous testing, feedback loops, and iterative design processes.
- Oversee the production of scalable and versatile UI assets that support various screen resolutions and platforms, ensuring consistency across all user interfaces.
- Develop and contribute to comprehensive style guides and visual design documentation, setting a clear direction for UI design standards across the game interface.
We are looking for someone who:
- Has extensive experience (5+ years) in UI art and design within the gaming industry, with a robust portfolio demonstrating your expertise in creating high-quality, innovative UI designs.
- Possesses advanced proficiency in graphic design tools such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and has experience with game engines like Unreal Engine.
- Demonstrates a superior eye for design, colour theory, typography, and user-centred design principles.
- Excels in a fast-paced, agile environment, capable of leading projects through weekly sprints and rapid iterations while maintaining a high standard of quality.
- Exhibits exceptional communication and leadership skills, with a proven track record of productive collaboration in cross-functional and senior-level teams.
In addition, we expect you to:
- Bring a meticulous eye for detail and a deep understanding of user-centred design principles, while being able to adapt in a dynamic, agile development environment.
- Display top-tier communication and collaboration skills, empowering you to effectively lead and mentor other team members, while contributing significantly within our cross-functional teams.
